Sacrificing is a mandatory act of worship. Being a Muslim, being of sound mind, and reaching the age of puberty are the fundamental religious requirements for all acts of worship. In the case of sacrifice, being wealthy is a condition; therefore, every Muslim who gives zakat and fitrah is obligated to perform the sacrifice. The condition of being wealthy, according to Islamic law, is to possess wealth equal to the nisab amount. Therefore, it is mandatory for anyone who possesses 80.18 grams of gold or its equivalent in wealth to perform the sacrifice.
